General: This program combines two separate courses from Technical Diving International (TDI) addressing the specific information and skills necessary to perform staged decompression diving while minimizing the associated risk factors. Included are the use of various nitrox mixtures to increase decompression efficiency and safety, gas volume management, contingency planning and procedures, common equipment requirements, gear configurations, and decompression techniques. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to plan and execute staged decompression profiles to a maximum depth of 150 feet, utilizing air and EAN22 thru 100% oxygen. This is an academic-intensive, equipment-intensive, and skill-intensive class.
Prerequisites:
-PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent).
-Nitrox Certified
-Dry Suit Certified (or equivalent dry suit experience)
-50 Logged Dives (25 should be NJ ocean dives, or equivalent cold water experience).
-Minimum age 18.

Session # 5: (Saturday, 8:00am-4:00pm): Dutch Springs-Training Dives

Gear Required:
Complete set of technical-level open water gear including dry suit, appropriate BCD (back inflation preferred), weight system, 2 sets of double cylinders or 2 large volume single cylinders with large pony bottles (minimum back-gas capacity of 150 cubic feet), 2 decompression cylinders (minimum capacity of 30 cubic feet), appropriate regulator configurations, SPG for each cylinder, 2 depth monitors and 2 time monitors (appropriate dive computers may be used for depth and time monitoring), lift bag (minimum 50 pounds of lift), wreck reel (minimum 200 feet of line), jon line, underwater slate, 2 cutting devices. And both audible and visible surface signaling devices.

Course does not include any additional gear you may need, nitrox fills, required oxygen-cleaning, admission to Dutch Springs, or transportation
Reminder: You will need to leave a $50 deposit and pick up the educational materials prior to class. In addition, prior to the first class, you will need to read each of the two TDI manuals, and you will need to complete the review exercises at the end of each chapter.
