Elite Divers Staff

Owner:  Nick Warden

Born in England {yes England, not Australia} Migrated to Canada in 1967, played rugby for many years, hence the ugly knees and nervous twitches!! Moved to the USA in the 70's and established a graphic arts company. Finally in 1987, realizing he was totally color blind, decided the next best thing was to open a dive shop!! Still refuses to sell any SCUBA equipment that is not black. Started his diving career in Manaus, Brazil. Jumped into the Rio Negro with nothing more than a cylinder and primary regulator. Decided upon his return to the States to take a course for certification. Only thing that hasn't changed is his gear. His one lasting ambition? Not to open another dive shop!!

[Webmaster's note- What Nick WON'T Tell you:]  Nick's diving skills were thrust into the International Spotlight as the first diver to dive on the Titanic with nothing more than an Aluminum 80cuft tank, and a broken Sherwood Blizzard Regulator.    He's since become a connoisseur of the areas finest decompression chambers and remains on a first-name basis with Shore Area medivac helicopter pilots (Won the 1999 Most Frequent Patient Award).   Nick's dangerous diving practices were partially responsible for the formation of PADI.  The blank stares he often gives you is the the neurological deficit common amongst divers who hold their breath.  Students, pay attention:  Nick is a walking billboard for what can happen.

  Store Manager:  Charlie Turback

Charlie is better known for his "repair" of SCUBA Equipment....at least to the "Morris County Better Business Bureau" anyway (They're currently investigating hundreds of complaints against Charlie).  Charlie has been attempting equipment repair for almost 2 years already, with virtually no success at all.  He's frequently overheard saying "I never done worked on one-a-dese before...what is it??!!!"     Charley loves junk food and will eat nothing but M&M's for days on end.   He's been with Elite Divers since 1943.

Charley's retired as of 10/9/07.   We all wish him a healthy and happy retirement!!!    Congrats Charley!!    We'll keep his image here mainly out of sheer laziness...or till we can find somebody to fill his huge shoes.
